We have a temporary, part-time opportunity for a skilled, enthusiastic, and innovative Mental Health Therapist (MHT) supporting PCC (Personalized Care in the Community). Under the direction of the Care Manager, the MHT works within a community residential setting providing care for adolescents with complex mental health presentations. Working in partnership with the residential agency and Children's Services, and an allied health team, the MHT provides the mental health support for youth who require intensive community-based mental health support. As the Mental Health Therapist, you will be required to use a variety of treatment modalities (individual, family, and group) to persons experiencing significant mental health difficulties. Working both independently and as a member of a collaborative multidisciplinary team, you will provide evidence informed and best practices in crisis intervention, assessment, consultation, referral, case management and treatment. This position has transitioned to Recovery Alberta effective September 1, 2024. Master's degree in Psychology; or master's degree in Social Work (clinical specialization) including education in mental health assessment and psychotherapy; or master's or bachelor's degree in Occupational Therapy including training and experience in mental health assessment and provision of psychotherapy; or master's degree in Nursing or Psychiatric Nursing including training and experience in mental health assessment and provision of psychotherapy. Active or eligible for registration with the applicable Alberta regulatory college.
Additional Required Qualifications:Minimum of two years providing counselling/therapy to adolescent clients. Certification in CPR/First Aid, Non-Violent Crisis Intervention, Suicide prevention all required.
Preferred Qualifications:Experience working in partnership with community stakeholders in a professional capacity preferred.
