This is an exciting opportunity to join the Red Deer Addiction & Mental Health Clinic. As a Mental Health Therapist, you will use a variety of treatment modalities with adults experiencing significant mental health difficulties. Working both independently and as a member of a collaborative multidisciplinary team, you will provide evidence informed and best practices in crisis intervention, assessment, consultation, referral, drop-in/single session, case management and treatment. We offer a variety of psychodynamic groups and all mental health therapists have the opportunity to grow in the area of group facilitation. Additionally, you will have the opportunity to develop and grow a positive workplace culture that encompasses a culture of care and professional growth. This position is transitioned to Recovery Alberta effective September 1, 2024. By applying on this posting, if you are the successful candidate, you will transition to Recovery Alberta.

Required Qualifications:

Master's degree in Psychology; or master's degree in Social Work (clinical specialization) including education in mental health assessment and psychotherapy; or master's or bachelor's degree in Occupational Therapy including training and experience in mental health assessment and provision of psychotherapy; or master's degree in Nursing or Psychiatric Nursing including training and experience in mental health assessment and provision of psychotherapy. Active or eligible for registration with the applicable Alberta regulatory college.

Additional Required Qualifications:

A minimum of 3 years of relevant mental health and addiction experience, preferably in community settings. Strong skills with crisis intervention, assessment and relationship building. Experience in providing psychosocial interventions. Extensive knowledge of community resources.

Preferred Qualifications:

Excellent communication and self-management skills. Flexibility, openness, and a desire to be a dedicated team player. If registered with the ACSW, preference will be given to those with authorization to perform restricted psychosocial interventions.
