Reporting to the Clinical Supervisor, and under the direction of the Manager, this position works independently and collaboratively as a Mental Health Therapist providing services to children, youth, and families. The position is responsible for providing evidence informed and best practices in assessment, treatment, addiction and mental health interventions, support and follow-up to clients. This is an advanced mental health role required to perform the restricted activity of Psychosocial Interventions to address the full range of addiction and mental health issues. The Mental Health Therapist works in an integrated and collaborative way with our multi-disciplinary team to improve treatment and support access for addiction and mental health for children, youth, and families in the community. This position has transitioned to Recovery Alberta effective September 1, 2024. As the Mental Health Therapist, you will be required to use a variety of treatment modalities (individual, family, and group) to persons experiencing significant mental health difficulties. Working both independently and as a member of a collaborative multidisciplinary team, you will provide evidence informed and best practices in crisis intervention, assessment, consultation, referral, case management and treatment.

Master's degree in Psychology; or master's degree in Social Work (clinical specialization) including education in mental health assessment and psychotherapy; or master's or bachelor's degree in Occupational Therapy including training and experience in mental health assessment and provision of psychotherapy; or master's degree in Nursing or Psychiatric Nursing including training and experience in mental health assessment and provision of psychotherapy. Active or eligible for registration with the applicable Alberta regulatory college.
Additional Required Qualifications:Minimum of 2 years in the last 5 in mental health experience in comprehensive mental health assessment and the provision of psychotherapy with children, youth, and families.
Preferred Qualifications:Preference for those with additional trainings such as Circle of Security Parenting or Connect Parenting.
