Master's degree in Psychology; or master's degree in Social Work (clinical specialization) including education in mental health assessment and psychotherapy; or master's or bachelor's degree in Occupational Therapy including training and experience in mental health assessment and provision of psychotherapy; or master's degree in Nursing or Psychiatric Nursing including training and experience in mental health assessment and provision of psychotherapy. Active or eligible for registration with the applicable Alberta regulatory college.
Additional Required Qualifications:A combination of related education and experience may be considered in the following programs: Bachelor of Social Work including training and experience in mental health assessment and psychotherapy and authorized by ACSW with a Psychosocial Intervention Authorization. Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Nursing or Psychiatric Nursing with: Related Master’s degree including training in mental health assessment and provision of psychotherapy or, Experience in mental health assessment and provision of psychotherapy. Minimum of 3 years of relevant mental health experience. Strong working knowledge of the addiction and mental health system across the province and the ability to locate resources that may be useful for callers based on clinical judgement. Advanced skills in assessment and intervention for individuals of all ages with addiction and mental health concerns, including crisis intervention skills. Strong knowledge of mental health and substance use concerns. Excellent computer skills essential, including working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
Preferred Qualifications:Working knowledge of Trauma Informed Care, working knowledge of Motivational Interviewing. 2 years’ experience working with individuals with Addictions and Mental Health issues. 2 years’ experience in counselling. Experience working in an Opioid Agonist Treatment Program.
