Required Qualifications:

Master's degree in Psychology; or master's degree in Social Work (clinical specialization) including education in mental health assessment and psychotherapy; or master's or bachelor's degree in Occupational Therapy including training and experience in mental health assessment and provision of psychotherapy; or master's degree in Nursing or Psychiatric Nursing including training and experience in mental health assessment and provision of psychotherapy. Active or eligible for registration with the applicable Alberta regulatory college.

Additional Required Qualifications:

The combination of education and clinical experience satisfactory to the employer will also be considered. Minimum 3-5 Years prior experience in an acute mental health setting supporting individuals with mental health and addiction concerns. Minimum 1 year experience in a community mental health setting, in the last 3-5 years. Current knowledge (within the past 2 years) of Best practice Addictions treatment trends and modalities. Recent experience providing individual therapy, group therapy and psychosocial interventions. Advanced knowledge and specialization in addictions treatment (concurrent disorders). Authorization from the applicable professional college in order to perform psychosocial interventions. Demonstrate solid Interpersonal communication skills, interviewing techniques and writing skills and the ability to work in an interdisciplinary setting. In depth knowledge of mental health/mental illness. Class 5 driver's license.

Preferred Qualifications:

3 years experience working with individuals with concurrent disorders is a desirable asset. Current working knowledge of sexual offender risk assessment tools. Experience in a forensic mental health setting. Experience providing sexual offender treatment in an inpatient or community mental health setting. Experience working with individuals with a forensic history or within a correctional institution. ATSA Certification. Nonviolent crisis intervention. Connect Care.
