Required Qualifications:

Completion of one of the following programs: Master's degree in Psychology. Master's degree in Social Work (clinical specialization) including education in mental health assessment and psychotherapy and who have Psychosocial Intervention Authorization. Master's degree in Occupational Therapy including training and experience in mental health assessment and provision of psychotherapy. Master's degree in Nursing and Psychiatric Nursing including training and experience in mental health assessment and provision of psychotherapy. Active or eligible for registration with the applicable regulatory college.

Additional Required Qualifications:

Minimum 3 years full-time experience directly supporting adults with developmental disabilities in a community rehab or Disability service funded provider setting (day or residential). Knowledge and experience working directly with individuals with a dual diagnosis or complex service need. Experience developing and implementing behavioural support plans and applied behaviour management strategies (i.e. positive approaches). Experience providing case management and multi-system service collaboration supporting individuals with complex needs. Experience providing education and learning to external stakeholders related to behavioural support plans. Competency in using the DSM V diagnoses. Knowledge of the Mental Health Act, Community Treatment Orders, Protection of Person in Care Act and other relevant legislation. Knowledge of community addiction and mental health services and other resources.

Preferred Qualifications:

Clinical experience working in a mental health inpatient/outpatient setting. Non-Violent Crisis Intervention. Experience navigating the Persons with Developmental Disabilities program – i.e. community living, employment, community access and specialized community support. Experience using a variety of treatment modalities such as CBT, DBT or other evidence based modalities.
