Required Qualifications:

Completion of masters degree in Psychology; or masters degree in Social Work (clinical specialization) including education in mental health assessment and psychotherapy; or masters or bachelors degree in Occupational Therapy including training and experience in mental health assessment and provision of psychotherapy; or masters degree in Nursing or Psychiatric Nursing including training and experience in mental health assessment and provision of psychotherapy. Active or eligible for registration with the applicable Alberta regulatory college

Additional Required Qualifications:

Minimum 3 years full-time experience working with adults with developmental disabilities. Demonstrated knowledge/experience working directly with individuals with dual diagnosis and with developing behavioural interventions and Care plans. Knowledge and experience in individual and group therapy and the ability to use a variety of treatment modalities that support individuals with developmental disabilities. (i.e. CBT/DBT behavioural therapy or other). Class 5 driver's license or non GDL and a reliable vehicle work related travel – work travel to other Zones will be required. Knowledge of the Mental Health Act, Community Treatment Orders, Protection of Person in Care Act and other relevant legislation is a requirement.

Preferred Qualifications:

2 years full-time clinical experience within the last 5 years working with patients suffering from a mental illness. Experience with applied behaviour management strategies (i.e. positive approaches). Knowledge of available community addiction & mental health services & other resources. Non-Violent Crisis Intervention training. Community experience supporting individuals with developmental disabilities.
