Are you passionate about supporting the mental health of children, youth, and families? Join our dynamic outpatient services team in Red Deer for an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful impact. We are seeking a dedicated Mental Health Clinician to provide counselling services through our Walk-In Single Session Program, located at the Sheldon Kennedy Centre of Excellence. This role focuses on delivering timely, client-centered care to children, youth, and families. Key Responsibilities: Provide single-session counselling to children, youth, and families. Collaborate with a clinical supervisor and consultation team for intersession support. Engage in consultation with community stakeholders to connect clients with appropriate resources and services. Develop and facilitate therapeutic groups as part of the program. Participate in additional duties aligned with the scope of the role. Schedule: This position requires availability on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 12:00 PM to 8:30 PM. This position has transitioned to Recovery Alberta effective September 1, 2024. Description:

As a Mental Health Clinician, you will work as a member of the multidisciplinary health care team collaborating on the delivery of care for the needs of individuals, families and/or communities. You will be responsible for the intake, clinical interviews, and screening of clients with addiction and mental health disorders. You will liaise with a variety of internal and external stakeholders and work collaboratively with other team members as required. You may have the opportunity to participate in program planning, development and to provide supervision to practicum students. This position is open to Registered Nurses, Registered Psychiatric Nurses, Registered Social Workers, Registered Psychologists, and Registered Occupational Therapists.

Required Qualifications:

Completion of a master's degree in psychology; a bachelor's degree in social work incorporating education in mental health assessment, brief counseling, and crisis intervention; a master's or bachelor's degree in occupational therapy with similar educational components; a bachelor's degree in nursing with training and experience in mental health assessment, crisis intervention, and brief counseling; or a bachelor's degree in psychiatric nursing. Active or eligible for registration with the applicable Alberta regulatory college.

Additional Required Qualifications:

2 years counselling experience. Registration with a licensing body under the Health Professions Act with ability to practice Restricted Activity Psychosocial Intervention in Alberta is required. Minimum bachelor’s degree in related field.

Preferred Qualifications:

Training in Single session therapy, solution focused therapy and motivational interviewing. Experience working with children, youth and families in a mental health setting.
