Required Qualifications:

Completion of one of the following programs: a Master's degree in Psychology, a Bachelor's degree in Social Work incorporating education in mental health assessment, brief counseling, and crisis intervention, a Master's or Bachelor's degree in Occupational Therapy with similar educational components, a Bachelor's degree in Nursing with training and experience in mental health assessment, crisis intervention, and brief counseling, or a Bachelor's degree in Psychiatric Nursing. Active or eligible for registration with the applicable Alberta regulatory college.

Additional Required Qualifications:

Full registration with a professional college under the Health Professions Act. Provisional registration not appropriate in this role. Social Workers require restricted activities designation. 2 years’ experience of Geriatric Mental Health. 2 years’ experience facilitating psychoeducational and therapeutic groups. 2-3 years’ experience in Addictions providing assessment and therapeutic intervention to patients with a broad range of addictions. 3 years’ experience in mental health in an area of sufficient acuity and complexity to provide skill in mental health assessment, risk assessment, provisional diagnoses for clients with a broad range of diagnoses. Basic computer skills including Outlook, MS Word and Excel required. A demonstrated track record of developing effective relationships with diverse professionals required. Experience working in a multidisciplinary team. Ability to work collaboratively within an interdisciplinary team. Ability to set priorities and manage time effectively. Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

Strong individual and group therapy skills is an asset. Strong communication and presentation skills is an asset.
