Required Qualifications:

Completion of one of the following programs: a Master's degree in Psychology, a Bachelor's degree in Social Work incorporating education in mental health assessment, brief counseling, and crisis intervention, a Master's or Bachelor's degree in Occupational Therapy with similar educational components, a Bachelor's degree in Nursing with training and experience in mental health assessment, crisis intervention, and brief counseling, or a Bachelor's degree in Psychiatric Nursing. Active or eligible for registration with the applicable Alberta regulatory college.

Additional Required Qualifications:

Minimum 3 years of experience in an acute/community mental health setting. Working knowledge of the AB Mental Health Act and Community Treatment Order Legislation and other relevant legislation. Understanding of the DSM-5 with demonstrated knowledge of mental health diagnosis, symptomatology and treatment interventions. Familiarity of Harm Reduction Principles, Psychosocial Rehabilitation, Patient and Family Centered Care, Recovery Oriented practice, and an ability to engage with difficult to serve populations. Experience in various risk assessment i.e. Suicide risk, Homicidal risk, violent risk. Proficiency in computers, Microsoft Office Suite, SCM, Connect Care. Training in mental health therapy intervention skills. Experience in conducting psychiatric and psychosocial assessment, treatment planning, crisis intervention, group facilitation, and medication management. Knowledge of the mental health system, housing resources and community resources within the Calgary Zone. Understanding of financial programs including AISH, CPP, EI, Income support and other social services. This position has been identified and is anticipated to transition to Recovery Alberta effective September 1, 2024. Preferred Qualifications:

Knowledge of verbal de-escalation and intervention techniques preferred. Ability to complete capacity assessments.
