Required Qualifications:

Completion of one of the following programs: a Master's degree in Psychology, a Bachelor's degree in Social Work incorporating education in mental health assessment, brief counseling, and crisis intervention, a Master's or Bachelor's degree in Occupational Therapy with similar educational components, a Bachelor's degree in Nursing with training and experience in mental health assessment, crisis intervention, and brief counseling, or a Bachelor's degree in Psychiatric Nursing. Active or eligible for registration with the applicable Alberta regulatory college.

Additional Required Qualifications:

REQUIRED EDUCATION: Completion of a recognized post-secondary program in a health-related field. Must hold current full registration with a regulated professional body under the Health Professions Act. REQUIRED EXPERIENCE: Minimum 2 years directly related experience working in the addiction and mental health field. Community and crisis experience. Strong knowledge of addiction and mental health disorders across populations and experience in using the DSM-V diagnostic system. REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES: Strong working knowledge of the addiction and mental health system and resources within AHS Calgary Zone and related resources in the Calgary community. Strong critical thinking, assessment, and intervention skills including crisis intervention skills. Ability to manage a wide variety of clinical situations with varying levels of acuity and a heterogeneous client population. Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to effectively liaison with various professionals. Ability to work confidently, independently and within collaborative partnerships. Ability to thoroughly and accurately collect and document information in a timely manner. Proficiency in computer use, data entry and navigation. Ability to work in a sedentary job.
