Required Qualifications:

Completion of one of the following programs: a Master's degree in Psychology, a Bachelor's degree in Social Work incorporating education in mental health assessment, brief counseling, and crisis intervention, a Master's or Bachelor's degree in Occupational Therapy with similar educational components, a Bachelor's degree in Nursing with training and experience in mental health assessment, crisis intervention, and brief counseling, or a Bachelor's degree in Psychiatric Nursing. Active or eligible for registration with the applicable Alberta regulatory college.

Additional Required Qualifications:

Must have current valid registration with the appropriate governing body. Minimum 3 years mental health experience which includes geriatrics. Experience working on a multidisciplinary team and in collaboration with other health partner agencies. Experienced in assessment and report writing. Ability to read lab values. Experience working in a consultation role. Extensive knowledge of clinical mental health syndromes and medical issues commonly seen in the senior’s population. Proficient understanding of dementia and delirium syndromes as well as treatment practices for this subgroup of mental health clients. Ability to work in a fast-paced subacute environment. Ability to work independently and within an outreach model. Strong mental health and medical assessments, consultation and intervention skills. Excellent verbal and written communications skills essential. Excellent interpersonal skills required. Basic computer and word processing skills required. Ability to set priorities and organize time effectively. Current BCLS-HCP certification required.

Preferred Qualifications:

Connect Care training/experience is an asset.
