Occupational Therapists: Completion of bachelor¿s degree in Occupational Therapy and active or eligible registration with the Alberta College of Occupational Therapists (ACOT). Psychologists: Completion of bachelor's degree in Psychology and active (or eligible registration) with the College of Alberta Psychologists (CAP). Registered Nurses and Registered Psychiatric Nurses: Completion of an accredited Nursing or Psychiatric Nursing education program and active (or eligible registration) with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA) or the College of Registered Psychiatric Nurses of Alberta (CRPNA). Social Workers: Completion of bachelor's degree in Social Work and active (or eligible registration) with the Alberta College of Social Work (ACSW).
Additional Required Qualifications:Full registration with a professional college under the Health Professions Act. Provisional registration not appropriate in this role. 1 years’ experience in Community Mental Health required. Knowledge of clinical mental health disorders commonly seen in the senior’s population required. Knowledge of normal aging and development required. Experience in an intake role. Strong foundation in community mental health. Knowledge of mental health system and resources within AHS and Calgary. Experience working in a multidisciplinary team. Ability to set priorities and manage time effectively. Flexibility in scheduling and adaptability to changes in role and processes. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Intermediate computer skills in Outlook email and scheduling, MS Word and Excel required. A demonstrated track record of developing effective relationships with diverse professionals required.
Preferred Qualifications:2 years’ experience in Geriatric Mental Health preferred.
