This position is open to Registered Nurses, Registered Psychiatric Nurses, Registered Social Workers, Registered Psychologists, and Occupational Therapists. Social Workers and Psychologists: Completion of bachelor degree in Social Work or Psychology. Active or eligible registration with the Alberta College of Social Work (ACSW) or the College of Alberta Psychologists (CAP) Registered Nurses and Registered Psychiatric Nurses: Completion of an accredited nursing or psychiatric nursing education program. Active or eligible registration with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CARNA) or the College of Registered Psychiatric Nurses of Alberta (CRPNA).
Additional Required Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree in Nursing, Occupational Therapy, Social Work or a Master’s degree in Psychology. Full registration with a professional college under the Health Professions Act. Provisional registration not appropriate in this role. Current registration with the appropriate regulated licensing body in Alberta required. 2-3 years’ experience in Mental Health care providing assessment and therapeutic intervention to patients with acute and/or chronic mental health disorders required. 2 years’ experience working with geriatric clients required. Knowledge of clinical mental health disorders commonly seen in the seniors population. Basic computer skills including email and scheduling required. Intermediate skills in MS Word required. A demonstrated track record of developing effective relationships with diverse professionals required. Please note, this facility provides Long Term Care (LTC) or Designated Supportive Living (DSL) services and by Order of the Chief Medical Officer of Health, many AHS employees are restricted to work only at a single LTC/DSL site for the remainder of the pandemic. Speak to the hiring manager who will confirm if, as the successful candidate in this position, you will be restricted to work at only one LTC/DLS site in Alberta.
Preferred Qualifications:Experience working in community or Long Term Care/SL4 an asset.
