This position is open to Registered Nurses, Registered Psychiatric Nurses, Registered Social Workers, Registered Psychologists, and Occupational Therapists. Social Workers and Psychologists: Completion of bachelor degree in Social Work or Psychology. Active or eligible registration with the Alberta College of Social Work (ACSW) or the College of Alberta Psychologists (CAP) Registered Nurses and Registered Psychiatric Nurses: Completion of an accredited nursing or psychiatric nursing education program. Active or eligible registration with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CARNA) or the College of Registered Psychiatric Nurses of Alberta (CRPNA).
Additional Qualifications:Degree in Social Work (Master’s preferred), Registered Psychologist, Registered RN/RPN (Baccalaureate or Masters preferred) Training in psychiatric assessment and DSM IV-TR, suicide risk assessment, mental status examination, and therapy intervention skills. Five years’ experience in Mental Health. Three years’ experience in community mental health working with adult clients with complex mental health concerns, including perinatal mental health concerns, character logical issues and addiction issues. Current registration with appropriate professional body. Must be authorized to perform restricted activities as defined by appropriate professional association. In depth knowledge of DBT skills, including formal training. Experience/expertise facilitating DBT Skills Groups. Experience/expertise running therapy groups for men and women. Experience working with families with Child and Family Services involvement. Triage experience and mental health assessments within last 3 years. Completed the Accelerated Resolution Therapy workshop.
Preferred Qualifications:Ability to maintain excellent interpersonal relationships with the interdisciplinary team, students, and referral sources. Excellent knowledge of mental health resources. Computer literacy. Initiative, discretion, mature judgment, and ability to deal with difficult situations in a calm, professional manner. Experience working with families from diverse backgrounds. Experience being part of a reflecting team. Strong written communication skills.
