Completion of Grade 12. Completion of Health Care Aide or Mental Health Aide Certificate or equivalent.
Additional Required Qualifications:Strong and fluent verbal communication skills (English language proficiency is required) that supports verbal messages being received and understood. High emotional awareness of self and others. Active listening skills. Congruent non-verbal communication skills. Has the ability to establish and maintain relationships built on mutual respect, appropriate sensitivity and transparency, empathy and compassion with patients & families, colleagues, professional and medical staff. Has sound self-management skills – being able to manage own emotions and strong feelings; maintain a calm and tactful composure under a broad range of challenging circumstances and think clearly and stay focused under pressure. Works cooperatively and productively with others. Enhance, support, empower and otherwise increase patient engagement in treatment and change. Has demonstrated ability to follow instructions and complete assigned tasks.
