Medical Radiation Technologist II

Working under the general direction of the Unit Manager for Cardiac Cath Lab, the Medical Radiation Technologist II (MRT II) is responsible for the Diagnostic Imaging component of Cardiac catheterization, Electrophysiology, and Cardiac Device Implants. The MRT II is involved in direct patient care and support. Their role is to circulate and assist during Cardiac procedures. They are responsible for the complex device implant cases in the operating rooms. The position involves utilization of portable and fixed imaging equipment with emphasis on specialized cardiovascular software platforms. Description:
As a Medical Radiation Technologist (MRT) II, you will perform specialized technical radiological imaging examinations on patients for the purpose of disease and pathology diagnosis. You may perform specialized diagnostic imaging procedures for Physician/Radiologist review, interpret physician requisitions and assist with the care and maintenance of imaging equipment.

Completion of diploma from an accredited Medical Radiation Technologist (MRT) program. Active or eligible for registration with the Alberta College of Medical Diagnostic and Therapeutic Technologists (ACMDTT). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Healthcare Provider (BCLS-HCP).
Additional Required Qualifications:Current BCLS with expiry date. Completion of a recognized program in Medical Radiation Technology. Registration with the Canadian Association of Medical Radiation Technologists (CAMRT). Minimum 1 year experience in the last 3 years general radiography, special procedures in an acute care setting. This MRT position includes the following physical requirements: being on one's feet for extended periods of time (including walking/standing and wearing lead), exposure to infectious diseases, and hazardous situations for which they are trained; be able to assist in transporting, lifting and positioning of patients; be able to bend, lift, push, and pull equipment.
Preferred Qualifications:Experience working in Cardiac Cath Lab setting preferred. Completed training to FMC Cath Lab preferred. Strong Understanding Connect Care workflows and ability to troubleshoot.
