Medical Radiation Technologist II
Your Opportunity:
This position is based out of the Arthur J.E Child Comprehensive Cancer Centre in a very dynamic and fast paced Diagnostic Imaging Department. The Medical Radiation Technologist II (MRT II) operates in one or more of the specialized, highly technical environments of Computerized Tomography and Interventional Radiology. The MRT II, under limited supervision, assesses patients, analyzes, and interprets diagnostic data, and provides information to the Radiologist to assist in diagnosis, clinical intervention and patient management. These services are performed in an effective efficient and safe manner. As a member of the Diagnostic Imaging team, this position is responsible for working all shifts and on-call as assigned.
Description:
As a Medical Radiation Technologist (MRT) II, you will perform specialized technical radiological imaging examinations on patients for the purpose of disease and pathology diagnosis. You may perform specialized diagnostic imaging procedures for Physician/Radiologist review, interpret physician requisitions and assist with the care and maintenance of imaging equipment.

Completion of diploma from an accredited Medical Radiation Technologist (MRT) program. Active or eligible for registration with the Alberta College of Medical Diagnostic and Therapeutic Technologists (ACMDTT). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Healthcare Provider (BCLS-HCP).
Additional Required Qualifications:Venipuncture certification required. Central Venous Access Device (CVAD) certification as required. N95 fitting. Previous experience in appropriate imaging modality and a general knowledge of computers. Practices effective radiation protection.
Preferred Qualifications:A minimum of 2 years Computerized Tomography (CT) and Interventional Radiology (IR) experience. Medical Administration Certification. CAMRT Continuing Education courses (i.e., CT course 1, 2 & 3) or equivalent CT training course preferred. CAMRT Continuing Education courses IR 1 & 2 course for applicable specialty), or equivalent IR training course preferred. CAMRT CTIC certificate preferred.
