Medical Radiation Technologist II
Your Opportunity:
This is a Medical Radiation Tech II - Computed Tomography technologist position. This position reviews requests for Diagnostic Imaging examinations for relevant patient history, medication(s), and laboratory test results to identify imaging requirements. Correctly identifies patient and follows NOD (Name Occupation Duty). Performs high-quality patient care, comfort, and safety by: Explaining procedures and applicable preparation requirements to the patient. Obtaining relevant medical history, completing screening questionnaires and consents as applicable. Responding to questions, concerns, or physical and psychological needs of the patient. Recognizing and responding to patient limitations, changes in patient status, and/or adverse reactions and adapts exams or procedures accordingly. (i.e., suspends exam, and/or engages other resources/personnel appropriately), Assuring patient confidentiality and privacy. Performs Diagnostic Imaging examinations in accordance with established departmental and organizational procedures and operates imaging equipment in an effective, efficient, and safe manner. Performs accurate imaging by selecting the appropriate protocols as approved by the radiologist according to clinical history on the requisition. Makes decisions on modifications to scanning parameters and consults with the radiologist or cardiologist if needed. Seeks clarification, assistance, guidance, and/or expertise from the manager, director, or radiologist when necessary. Recognizes unusual or possible abnormal results and checks with the radiologist or cardiologist as needed. Performs post-processing as protocolled. This is a night position with subject to change as required operationally.

As a Medical Radiation Technologist (MRT) II, you will perform specialized technical radiological imaging examinations on patients for the purpose of disease and pathology diagnosis. You may perform specialized diagnostic imaging procedures for Physician/Radiologist review, interpret physician requisitions and assist with the care and maintenance of imaging equipment.

Completion of diploma from an accredited Medical Radiation Technologist (MRT) program. Active or eligible for registration with the Alberta College of Medical Diagnostic and Therapeutic Technologists (ACMDTT). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Healthcare Provider (BCLS-HCP).
Additional Required Qualifications:Good organizational skills and ability to assume responsibility. Good interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to cooperate. Ability to work independently and promote good teamwork. Perception, initiative, good judgment, and concern for detail and accuracy. Ability to demonstrate tact and courtesy in dealing with patients, staff, and physicians. Ability to work under pressure and in emergencies. Ability to communicate in English required. Practices effective radiation protection. IV Certification. Evaluates images for completeness and perform repeat or additional images as required. Schedules procedures, as required, focusing on patient care requirements and examination priority. Prepares contrast agents or medications as authorized and within the scope of practice.
Preferred Qualifications:Connect Care experience. CAMRT CTIC certificate.
