As the Medical Radiation Technologist, you will operate in one or more of the specialized, highly technical environments of General Radiology. Working with a high level of independence, you will assess patients, analyze, and interpret diagnostic data, and provide information to the Radiologist to assist in diagnosis, and patient management. Description:
As a Medical Radiation Technologist (MRT) I, you will perform a variety of standard technical radiological imaging examinations on patients for the purpose of disease and pathology diagnosis. You will interpret physician requisitions, prepare and assess patients for examination and produce high quality diagnostic images for Physician/Radiologist review, and assist with the care and maintenance of equipment. Your work may include a variety of procedures such as general and portable radiography, mobile and surgical suite examinations, as well as fluoroscopy where required.

Completion of diploma from an accredited Medical Radiation Technologist (MRT) program. Active or eligible for registration with the Alberta College of Medical Diagnostic and Therapeutic Technologists (ACMDTT). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support Healthcare Provider (BCLS-HCP).
Additional Required Qualifications:Graduate of a recognized and accredited School of Medical Radiological Technology and/or successful completion of the CAMRT Certification examination. Valid practice permit from the Alberta College of Medical Diagnostic & Therapeutic Technologists (ACMDTT) is required. Good interpersonal/communication skills. Ability to cooperate, work independently, and promote good teamwork. Perception, initiative, good judgment, and concern for detail and accuracy. Ability to demonstrate tact and courtesy in dealing with patients, staff, and physicians. Ability to work under pressure and in emergencies. Practices effective radiation protection, infection control, and safety Epic (Connect Care) working knowledge and access.
Preferred Qualifications:X-ray experience an asset. Mammo experience an asset.
