Required Qualifications:

Completion of an accredited Medical Laboratory Assistant training program.

Additional Qualifications:

Graduate of a recognized MLA/MLT course or equivalent education. Experience with MediTech or other LIS. Strong keyboarding skills as well as demonstrated understanding and proficiency with the Microsoft Suite of applications. Ability to understand and acknowledge hazards identified on the Hazard Identification, Risk Assessment and Risk Control document and be accountable to use available controls while working in this position. Ability to work independently, and within a team, effectively managing his or her time and setting priorities when faced with multiple tasks and deadlines over a period of time. Proven ability to cope with stress and deadlines in an efficient and effective manner. Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing. Ability to perform duties as outlined on the Physical Demands Analysis for the position.

Preferred Qualifications:

Current CMLTA registration. Minimum of 3 months experience as an active MLA.
