AHS has an exciting opportunity for a Care Manager, supporting operations in a busy LTC and Homecare offering services within Peace River and surrounding area. Reporting to the Area Manager, the Care Manager is a key leadership role responsible and accountable for direction, team leadership and organization over the activities of the Seniors Health program while supporting the vision, mission and business plan of Alberta Health Services. You will provide guidance, mentorship and day to day supervision of nursing staff within the department and play a key role in supporting an integrated and holistic approach to client care, health promotion and health maintenance. In addition to a competitive rate of pay, AHS currently has a Remote Retention Allowance in place to an annual maximum of $3,000. This allowance is non-pensionable and is payable on an hourly basis for all hours paid at the basic rate of pay. Relocation expenses maybe available.

The care manager senior’s health performs a leadership role in Seniors Health. This Positon is responsible and accountable for providing the direction, team leadership and organization over the activities of senior’s health within a specific area in support of the vision, mission and business plan of AHS. The position is responsible and accountable for making front line unit level decision and having direct leadership responsibly for contributing to the achievements of the goals of the Seniors Health.

Required Qualifications:

Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing required. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College and Association of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CARNA). 3-5 years in a health care provider role and a minimum of 1 year working in a leadership capacity. A demonstrated clear pattern of professional and personal development. Knowledge of currently senior’s health trends and standards.

The incumbent will possess a record of accomplishment in the following areas: Effective communicator with strong organizational skills, influential skills, and person centered orientation and commitment to providing quality services. Leadership skills, including demonstrated ability and comfort with decision making responsibilities, coaching and teaching, and the ability to inspire and build confidence in others. Demonstrated ability to manage change. Ability to manage human, financial and physical resources within an operating environment. Proven ability to foster partnerships and to achieve organizational goals within an organization and ideally managing within a unionized sector. Strong track record in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders. Effective leadership abilities combined with a strong commitment to operating within a team environment and the ability to motivate and inspire other to achieve common goals. Excellent analytical and decision-making skills. Ability to foster a climate of cooperation amongst, and build solid relationships with public agencies, government, committees and other partners.


Preferred Qualifications:

RAI HC and LTC experience preferred but not necessary.
