Master’s degree required in health, health promotion, or related field. A minimum of 5 years in a leadership and program planning role, ideally in an organization of significant size, complexity, and diversity. Demonstrated knowledge management skills. Demonstrated literature review skills. Demonstrated logic model development and evaluation skills. A demonstrated clear pattern of professional and personal development. Progressive leadership experience in a health environment, including 3-5 years' experience in a management role in reproductive, early childhood, and child and youth health and/or population health promotion. Proven ability to foster partnerships and to achieve organizational goals within an organization and managing within a unionized sector. Ability to foster a climate of cooperation amongst, and build solid relationships, with public agencies, government, committees and other partners. Equivalencies of education and experience may be considered.
Additional Required Qualifications:
Effective communicator with strong organizational skills, influential skills, client focused orientation and commitment to providing quality services. Leadership skills, including demonstrated ability and comfort with decision making responsibilities, coaching, mentoring, and the ability to inspire and build confidence in others. Demonstrated ability to develop strategies and establish priorities to meet the short- and long-term operational needs. Demonstrated effectiveness in the ability to initiate, implement and support new or modified approaches, practices and processes in a changing environment. Demonstrated ability to engage key partners and stakeholders in change management process, understand the impact on both internal and external stakeholders and manage risks and benefits accordingly. Ability to manage human, financial, and physical resources within an operating environment. Strong track record in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with internal and external partners. Excellent analytical and decision-making skills. Ability to plan, organize and manage short- and long-term plans and projects and deliver customer-focused results.
Preferred Qualifications:
Registration with an appropriate Alberta Regulated Health Profession is preferred. Healthcare experience is an asset. Experience in school health promotion is an asset.
