Required Qualifications:

Master’s degree required (PhD preferred) in health, health promotion, or related field. A minimum of 5 years in a leadership and program planning, role ideally in an organization of significant size, complexity and diversity (healthcare experience an asset). Demonstrated knowledge management skills. Demonstrated literature review skills. Demonstrated evaluation skills. A demonstrated clear pattern of professional and personal development. Equivalencies of education and experience may be considered. Progressive leadership experience in a health environment, including 3-5 years’ experience in a management role in reproductive, early childhood, and youth health and/or population health promotion. Effective communicator with strong organizational skills, influential skills, and client focused orientation and commitment to providing quality services. Leadership skills, including demonstrated ability and comfort with decision making responsibilities, coaching and teaching, and the ability to inspire and build confidence in others. Demonstrated ability to develop strategies and establish priorities to be incorporated in the business plan to assist Health Living to meet the short and long term operational needs.


Additional Required Qualifications:

Demonstrated effectiveness in the ability to initiate, implement and support new or modified approaches, practices and processes in a changing environment. Ability to recognize the need for change across services areas and assist with setting priorities. Engages key stakeholders in change process, understands the impact on both internal and external stakeholders and manages risks and benefits accordingly. Demonstrated ability to analyze the change process and make necessary adjustments to maximize effectiveness. Ability to manage human, financial, and physical resources within an operating environment. Proven ability to foster partnerships and to achieve organizational goals within an organization and ideally managing within a unionized sector. Strong track record in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders. Effective leadership abilities combined with a strong commitment to operating within a team environment and the ability to motivate and inspire other to achieve common goals. Excellent analytical and decision-making skills. Ability to plan, organize and manage short and long term plans and projects and deliver customer-focused results. Ability to foster a climate of cooperation amongst, and build solid relationships with public agencies, government, committees and other partners.
