Your Opportunity:

As the Manager of the Edmonton Tuberculosis Clinic, you will have the opportunity to influence the clinical care of Albertans who undergo investigation of, and/or diagnosis with, tuberculosis. Working as a leader of a multidisciplinary team, you will have the opportunity to positively influence the working environment of physicians and clinic staff and to collaborate with internal and external partners. This role also involves the opportunity to work collaboratively in a dyad leadership role with the Clinic Medical Director. By taking a continuous improvement approach to clinic leadership, you will have a significant opportunity to improve care delivery, team performance as well as clinic systems, processes, data reporting and communications.


The Tuberculosis Clinic is an outpatient specialty service providing care to people in Edmonton Zone as part of provincial AHS TB Services within Communicable Disease Control. The Manager - Edmonton Tuberculosis Clinic performs an important leadership role in AHS TB Services and reports to the Provincial Director, AHS TB Services. The Manager works collaboratively with the Clinic Medical Director in a dyad leadership structure. The Manager is responsible and accountable for providing strategic direction, team leadership and operational management to the TB Clinic in alignment with Provincial TB Services standards. The Manager makes unit-level decisions and has direct leadership of the TB Clinic multidisciplinary team that is comprised of Nurses, Social Worker, Pharmacist, and Administrative staff. Key responsibilities include: Strategic and operational planning; Leadership of the delivery of quality, accessible, patient-centred services; Team leadership, including all aspect of HR management - recruitment, supervision, coaching, competency development, performance management; Promotion of a positive and healthy work environment; Program evaluation, quality improvement; Development of policies, procedures, educational programming; Collaboration with partner agencies and departments; Financial/resource management and reporting.

Required Qualifications:

A relevant clinical degree from a recognized school (e.g. Nursing, Social Work, Pharmacy). Minimum 3 years related managerial, supervisory or leadership experience. 5 years relevant frontline health care experience in an organization of significant size, complexity and diversity.

Demonstrated organizational, problem solving, decision making, project and financial management skills. Demonstrated conflict resolution and change management skills. Self-directed and highly motivated. Ability to work and lead in collaborative manner within multidisciplinary teams.

Preferred Qualifications:

Preference will be given to candidates with: An applicable graduate degree (e.g. Master Business Administration, Public Administration, Nursing, other). More than 3 years of leadership/management experience. A demonstrated clear pattern of professional and personal development. Experience in ambulatory settings. Demonstrated experience and skill with AHS management systems including: ePeople, eManager, etc. Demonstrated ability to foster positive change within a team.
