Description:

The incumbent will possess a record of accomplishment in the following areas: Effective communicator with strong organizational skills, influential skills, client focused orientation and commitment to providing quality services. Leadership skills, including demonstrated ability and comfort with decision making responsibilities, coaching and teaching, and the ability to inspire and build confidence in others. Demonstrated ability to manage change. Ability to manage human, financial and physical resources within an operating environment. Proven ability to foster partnerships and to achieve organizational goals within an organization and ideally managing within a unionized sector. Strong track record in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders. Effective leadership abilities combined with a strong commitment to operating within a team environment and the ability to motivate and inspire other to achieve common goals. Excellent analytical and decision-making skills. Ability to foster a climate of cooperation amongst, and build solid relationships with public agencies, government, committees and other partners.

Required Qualifications:

Active registration with applicable Alberta Regulated Health Profession. Minimum of five (5) years of related experience in clinical practice required and within the last three (3) in a leadership role. Previous experience in Continuing Care/ Home Care.

Proven clinical and leadership skills. Superior organizational skills. Evidence of strong leadership, interpersonal and communication skills. Evidence of initiative, flexibility, and creativity. Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with patients, families, physicians, community agencies, professional colleagues, volunteers, and the community. Evidence of strong commitment to excellence in patient care and Continuing Care accountabilities. Ability to function effectively in a dynamic work environment.


Preferred Qualifications:

Baccalaureate degree in nursing preferred; however, skills and experience relevant to nursing practice will be considered. Equivalence of education and experience may be considered.
