As Manager, Clinical Transition Education, you will provide expert leadership and consultation on all matters related to health system education, both clinical practice and strategic initiatives within HSS. Bringing an in-depth knowledge of the perioperative nursing environment and the Registered Nurse First Assistant (RNFA) role, you will take a broad perspective spanning across all service sectors of the organization, proactively leading the planning, development, and implementation of standard clinical education for healthcare professionals such as Registered Nurses and Nurse Practitioners provincially and nationally. As this is a provincial position, the physical work location is negotiable within Alberta. This position is eligible for a remote/hybrid work arrangement. Description:
The Manager, Clinical Transition Education, provides expertise and advice to the CTE leadership team and provides strategic and operational leadership in the overall planning and strategy in developing a standardized education program, including establishing requirements and access to education through technology as part of the implementation plan, anticipating challenges, identifying opportunities, and solving problems, primarily focusing on the Registered Nurse First Assistant (RNFA) program. This includes the assessment, development, implementation, integration, and adoption of change and transformation initiatives related to RNFA and associated governance model. As Manager, CTE, you will be responsible for creating, managing, and monitoring a multi-year, multi-million-dollar budget. This includes making key allocation decisions of financial and human resources, managing contracts/negotiations between HSS and external entities. You will provide leadership to professional and/or front-line staff, and secure and maintain engagement of project partners including project implementation team, internal and external subject matter experts, physicians, operational leaders, educators and learners. In this role, the Manager is responsible for budgetary forecasting, monitoring and identification of risks as well as reporting of quality, performance, and financial measures. This includes performing complex data analysis and interpretation to provide documentation and propose recommended solutions for complex issues driving ongoing process development and improvement.

Master’s degree in nursing or education or equivalent. Post-secondary degree required (healthcare related field with a clinical or health system emphasis). Managerial/Leadership experience with direct oversight of staff. Practical experience in education program implementation in a health authority. Minimum of 2 years of progressive experience in leadership and management positions. Minimum of 3 years of experience working in a healthcare organization of significant size, complexity and diversity. Experience leading project teams and large projects within a healthcare organization of significant size, complexity and diversity. Project management experience, including facilitation/coordination of project planning, execution, monitoring, and evaluation. Ability to manage human, financial and physical resources within an operating environment.
Additional Required Qualifications:Skill and experience in critical thinking, analysis, problem solving, negotiation, investigation and concerns resolution. Demonstrated application of systems thinking and change management. Ability to work effectively and efficiently in a unique project environment where project resources and subject matter experts have limited availability to contribute; ability to move projects forward within these constraints. Experience working directly with clinicians; comfortable communicating with physicians, other health care professionals and executives. Demonstrated strength in verbal and written communication skills; ability to relay or explain complex issues or difficult situations. Motivated and adaptable team player with experience coordinating/leading teams. Proven ability to foster relationships and partnerships with complex and varied internal and external individuals and groups. Demonstrated ability and comfort with decision making and communication, and the ability to inspire and build confidence in others. Ability to work independently, prioritize and meet deadlines. Experience with MS Office suite including MS Project and Visio, SharePoint, MS Teams.
Preferred Qualifications:Experience as a clinical nurse specialist, Registered Nurse First Assistant. Project and/or change management certification. Training in process improvement, change management, and health services planning. Facilitation, mediation skills, and the ability to develop and facilitate presentations.
