Your Opportunity:

Alberta Health Services has an exciting opportunity for an Area Manager, responsible for acute care and outpatient Allied Health services in Two Hills, Vegreville, Vermilion, Wainwright, Provost, Viking, and Daysland. Additionally, you will be responsible, through a service agreement, for some service provision in Assisted Living Alberta (home care, supported living, and long term care) in some of the above communities as well as Sedgewick, Hardisty, and Galahad. Reporting to the Director of Allied Health, you will play a key leadership role, responsible and accountable for providing direction, team leadership and organization of operational activities. You will work with inter-professional teams and operationalize processes to support best practices in the delivery of allied health services and evidenced based care to patients. You will help to ensure services are provided in a culturally safe environment and that all who are involved and treated with dignity and respect while fostering networks and partnerships in order to establish standards of practice and achieve goals and priorities within the Allied Health portfolio. Description:

As a member of the Central Zone Allied Health Leadership team, you will work collaboratively with other Allied Health Managers in AHS, Assisted Living Alberta Allied Health Managers multiple site leaders/management/departments/Professional Practice Leaders to support excellence in patient and family centered care. You will be responsible for a large inter-professional team and support the implementation of program and organizational initiatives. This position is responsible and accountable in providing input to the direction, leadership and organization of the activities of Allied Health in support of the vision, mission and strategic direction of AHS within a defined geographical area. Key responsibilities include people and relationship management, operational planning and management, change leadership and strategic planning, and safety and risk management.

Required Qualifications:

A minimum of Bachelor’s Degree in an Allied Health discipline. Current registration with appropriate provincial regulatory college. A minimum of 3 years within the last 5 years in a leadership or management role ideally in an organization of significant size, complexity and diversity. A demonstrated clear pattern of professional and personal development.

Master's Degree.
