This is an exciting opportunity to be an IT leader for community-based health care. This Manager level position oversees provincial clinical business application teams. Reporting to the Director of IT Provincial & Community Care Systems, the IT Manager of PPH & IH manages the team of leads and analysts responsible for provincial IT services across a diverse portfolio, including Public Health, Communicable Disease Control, Emergency / Disaster Management, Safe Healthy Environments, Screening Programs, Public Health Surveillance & Informatics, and Indigenous Health. This role ensures effective service delivery, provides direction to analysts based on clinical business requests and organizational priorities, and leads operational IT service initiatives. Strategic direction setting and proactive engagement with business stakeholders is vital, while guiding effective and streamlined IT operations. The successful incumbent will manage both, balancing initiative planning with robust industry best practice IT operations and support. On top of that they will be directly responsibility for Connect Care and the future state of PPH & IH programs, applications, and services. This is an opportunity to partner with community and IT peers to collaborate with business and enhance provincially integrated community care delivery. This requires excellent communication skills, engaging with leaders to develop strong relationships for long-term success, navigating complex technical and political situations for organization-wide change. Description:
Important elements of this exciting role include engaging with business leaders on planning and road mapping, working with a team of IT professionals to enhance and sustain a high level of IT service stability and overall IT operational best practice. Development and management of the portfolio's resources and priorities. Develop, manage, and report on IT application service performance. Provide leadership to develop the team and embrace organizational changes that promote sustainable growth of people, process, and technology in the achievement of strategic goals. Deliver service quality and efficiency, business continuity, disaster recovery planning, service-level management, privacy and security requirements, and other operational obligations across the Community Care Services portfolio. As a member of the overall IT leadership team, demonstrate AHS values and fostering results-orientated collaboration among all IT leaders and staff, including fiscally prudent decisions and contract management. Provides senior leadership to projects enhancing IT-enabled support, including project vision, senior stakeholder engagement, and steering committee membership, and establishing project resource allocations.

5+ years of experience in healthcare IT, informatics, and system operations. Post-secondary Baccalaureate degree in healthcare, informatics, leadership, systems service management, or related field. Formal experience in leadership roles, previous management experience a benefit. Experience working in large, complex organization with varied workforce and systems.

Preferred Qualifications:
Leadership and Organizational Change Management education and/or applicable training. Working knowledge of IT operations' best practices including ITIL, COBIT, Connect Care; change management training (e.g. Prosci) and project management (e.g. PMP) an asset.
