Come join our amazing Calgary ISFL team as the Patient Care Manager, in a permanent full time position based out of Claresholm at the Willow Creek Continuing Care Centre. This is an exciting opportunity to provide quality patient care at the Willow Creek Continuing Care Centre (Long Term Care setting). Nestled near the Porcupine Hills, Claresholm is a small, tight knit community close to many outdoor activities including fishing, hiking, and camping. As the Patient Care Manager of Continuing Care, you will be responsible for providing leadership to an interdisciplinary team of healthcare professionals in long term care dedicated to providing high quality care to Albertans. Your leadership, direction and organization of these departments will be in support of the vision, mission and business plan of Assisted Living Alberta. Description:
As the Patient Care Manager, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining strong working relationships with key stakeholders, facilitating change management, promoting team development, teamwork and coordinating staffing and clinical work as identified by the Site Manager and Director. The Patient Care Manager will be responsible for developing and maintaining an effective framework for the operations of patient care services to facilitate the delivery of efficient, effective and safe patient care. You will be working closely with the Site Manager: implementing and monitoring your portfolio's budget while undertaking risk management, quality assurance and utilization of information in this field. As the successful candidate, you will have experience successfully communicating with different stakeholders and demonstrate a client-centered approach. We are also looking for someone who has the ability to develop creative approaches to resident care and who demonstrates sound critical thinking and ethical decision making.

Bachelor's degree in Nursing required, equivalent education/ experience may be considered. Active registration and practice permit with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA). Equivalent Degree/ Masters in health care field and experience may be considered. Minimum of 5 years of front line experience with demonstrated leadership competencies (e.g., participation on committees/projects, leading peers, consulting to management, conducting education, sitting on external boards, involvement with professional association etc.). A working knowledge of the Union Collective Agreements (HSAA, AUPE and UNA) is required. Previous management in a Unionized workforce is an asset.
Additional Required Qualifications:
Experience with the recruitment of RN, LPN and HCAs. Experienced in performance management and conducting staff reviews. A demonstrated clear pattern of professional and personal development. In addition, the incumbent will possess a record of accomplishment in the following areas: Effective communicator with strong organizational skills, influential skills, and client focused orientation and commitment to providing quality services. Leadership skills, including demonstrated ability and comfort with decision making responsibilities, coaching and teaching, and the ability to inspire and build confidence in others. Demonstrated ability to manage change. Ability to manage human, financial and physical resources within an operating environment. Proven ability to foster partnerships and to achieve organizational goals within an organization and ideally managing within a unionized sector. Strong track record in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholder.
Preferred Qualifications:
Previous management experience in a Continuing Care facility. Work experience in a rural setting.
