Your Opportunity:

Alberta Health Services has an exciting opportunity at Red Deer Regional Hospital Centre for a Manager, Unit 35, the intensive rehabilitation unit. Reporting to the Director of Allied Health, you will be responsible for the day-to-day operations of the unit. Both the nursing staff and the allied health staff will report to this position and supports best practices in the delivery services of rehab services and evidenced based care to patients. You will ensure services are provided in a culturally safe environment and that all who are involved are treated with dignity and respect. As a member of the Central Zone Allied Health Leadership Team, you will work collaboratively with other Allied Health Managers and Professional Practice Leads, to establish standards of practice and to achieve goals and priorities within the Allied Health portfolio. Red Deer is the third largest city in Alberta. It is located half-way between Calgary and Edmonton. It’s a small city with a beautiful river valley, miles of walking/biking trails, many sports/leisure facilities, an active arts & culture community, and much more. The Rocky Mountains are only a day trip away!

Description:

As a member of the Central Zone Allied Health Leadership team you will work collaboratively with other Allied Health Managers, multiple site leaders/management/departments/Professional Practice Leaders to support excellence in patient and family centered care. You will be responsible for a large inter-professional team and support the implementation of unit, program and organizational initiatives. This position is responsible and accountable in providing input to the direction, leadership and organization of the activities of Allied Health in support of the vision, mission and strategic direction of AHS within the rehabilitation unit. Key responsibilities include people and relationship management, operational planning and management, change leadership and strategic planning, and safety and risk management.

Required Qualifications:

Qualifications A minimum of Bachelor’s Degree in an Allied Health discipline. Current registration with appropriate provincial regulatory college. A minimum of 3 years within the last 5 years in a leadership or management role ideally in an organization of significant size, complexity and diversity. A demonstrated clear pattern of professional and personal development.

Preferred Qualifications:

Master's Degree in an Allied Health discipline or Leadership. Previous experience managing a hospital unit.
