Your Opportunity:

General Profile: This out of scope position is responsible to the Director of Diagnostic Imaging Services - Community Urban/ Rural & CCI, for effective planning and management for multiple technical and functional areas within the department of Diagnostic Imaging Services. The incumbent currently manages the following sites within Diagnostic Imaging (These are subject to review/change as operations can dictate): Strathcona Community Hospital (General Radiology, Ultrasound, CT Scanning) Fort Saskatchewan Community Hospital (General Radiology, Ultrasound, CT Scanning) Leduc Community Hospital(General Radiology, Ultrasound, CT Scanning) Devon General Hospital (General Radiology) Alberta Hospital Edmonton (General Radiology) Key Points: Liaise with other managers/counter parts in other departments and facilities to collaboratively optimize operations and overall efficiencies. Support physician leads and modality supervisors to ensure effective coordination of operations and collaborate with other Department Managers to ensure effective patient services. Development and oversight of internal operating procedures and policy according to the direction of the department Director and the policies and procedures of AHS and senior Provincial Diagnostic Imaging.

Description:

Reporting to the Director of Diagnostic Imaging, as a member of the Diagnostic Imaging Management team, this position is responsible for the leadership, coordination and operations of site imaging services. The position manages human resources, operational budgets, key performance indicators and establishes and maintain effective liaison within AHS, to ensure integrated imaging service delivery.

Required Qualifications:

Postgraduate degree in Health Sciences Administration / Department Management, or Business Administration and /or equivalent of education and recognized healthcare experience. Membership in appropriate professional organization to support professional development. Minimum five (5) years' experience in the provision of diagnostic imaging services. Minimum three (3) years' experience in leadership/supervisory capacity required.


Additional Required Qualifications:

Working knowledge of diagnostic imaging services and understanding of inter-relationships among clinical/technical practice physicians and patients. Proven leadership, analytical and planning skills. Enthusiastic and respected. Proven organizational and time management skills. Demonstrated understanding and commitment to the vision, mission and values of Alberta Health Services. Creative and innovative in resource deployment. Outstanding communication (oral and written) and interpersonal skills. Demonstrated ability to promote teamwork, collaboration and partnership. Strong commitment to patient and family centered care. Able to display an array of situational leadership styles. Human resource and organizational development skills. Demonstrated financial competence. Effective change management expertise. Licensed by appropriate licensing body (the Alberta College of Medical Diagnostic and Therapeutic Technologists (ACMDTT) or College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA) if applicable.
