The Manager, Occupational Therapy, plays a key leadership role within the Glenrose Rehabilitation Hospital’s matrix management structure. Reporting to the Director, Pediatric Rehabilitation, this role supports the vision, mission, and business plan of Alberta Health Services and the Glenrose Rehabilitation Hospital. You will work closely with staff, program teams, and committees to ensure high-quality rehabilitation services that make a difference for patients and their families.

required. A graduate diploma or degree in health services and/or business management is preferred. A minimum of 3 to 5 years in a clinical and/or leadership role, ideally in an organization of significant size, complexity and diversity within a rehabilitation setting. Working knowledge of the health care system is required. A demonstrated clear pattern of professional and personal development. In addition, the incumbent will possess a record of accomplishment in the following areas: Progressive clinical and leadership experience in a healthcare environment, preferably within a rehabilitation setting. Effective communicator with strong organizational skills, influential skills, patient focused orientation and commitment to providing quality services. Leadership skills, including demonstrated ability and comfort with decision making responsibilities, coaching and teaching, and the ability to inspire and build confidence in others.
Additional Required Qualifications:
3-5 years of leadership of a staff group of significant size and complexity in a unionized healthcare environment. Proven track-record of excellent communication to diverse stakeholders. Experience in program development and evaluation skills. Experience project management experience. Conflict resolution skills. Quality improvement experience. Change management experience. Coaching experience. High level of computer literacy required.
Preferred Qualifications:
Knowledge of occupational therapy practice and standards across the age span and diagnostic groupings represented across the site. Knowledge and experience in clinical intervention and/or management of pediatric rehabilitation. Knowledge of human resource policies and procedures. Knowledge of HSAA, UNA and AUPE contracts. Knowledge of clinical practice guidelines for occupational therapists. Knowledge of leading management practices.
