Your Opportunity:

The Finance Manager, is a leadership role within Business Advisory Services (BAS). The manager is accountable for the delivery, integration and evaluation of finance processes, frameworks, solutions and services to an identified client group, ensuring they align with, and support health care provincial approaches, organizational priorities and direction, and evolving best practices. Reporting to the BAS Finance Director, the Manager, will provide finance expertise to large-scale organizational projects and initiatives, and act as the main point of contact for the Cancer Care Ab, Protective Services and Infection, Prevention & Control portfolios while supporting a values-based approach for people, decision-making, and support the achievement of identified goals and objectives related to the achievement of the health care vision. The position requires a client focused individual with the ability to create strong partnerships with various organizational areas. The Finance Manager is responsible and accountable for leading a finance team in the planning, delivery and evaluation of financial results and processes; including, but limited to: month-end and year-end processes; providing budgeting support; providing variances analysis and forecasting; as well as finance/business advice to the client group. This role will support the operational leaders within Cancer Care Ab, Infection Prevention & Control, and Protective Services.

Description:

Implements, monitors and manages BAS service delivery models for the client group. Collaborates with various stakeholders to ensure value-based solutions to complex finance and business issues, are in alignment with legislation, professional practice guidelines and the health care organizational direction, recommends corrective actions. Applies business and management expertise to set direction and resolve problems in area(s) of responsibility. Partners with management and senior leadership of identified client groups on strategic initiatives and long/short term planning, ensures alignment of organizational and finance policies, procedures and direction. Identifies & advises the appropriate allocation of fiscal resources across the identified client groups, and manage and report on the operating budgets, including budget forecasting and expenditure monitoring in accordance with established policies and practices within the area of accountability. Partners with other Finance teams to develop approaches to meet the requirements of the identified client group. Provides finance guidance and expertise to specific organizational projects and initiatives, as assigned, engaging other finance professionals, as required. Leads and/or co-ordinate finance projects and initiatives (internal and external to finance), as assigned. Provides systemic, strategic thinking to the organization (all stakeholders), Finance and BAS. Provides leadership, support, coaching/mentoring, and expert counsel to all direct reports on all aspects of financial operations.

Required Qualifications:

Completion or near completion of a Professional Accounting Designation or post grad degree (CPA, MBA, BComm, etc) minimum of 5 - 8 years experience in Business / Accounting Role


Additional Required Qualifications:

3 - 5 years experience in a leadership / management role, or equivalent work experience Strong communication skills (written & oral) Advanced Excel Skills


Preferred Qualifications:

Experience in working within a large organization or Health Care environment is an asset Experience in Hyperion, SmartView and Power BI software
