Alberta certification in a mechanical, electrical, or related trade, interprovincial Red Seal preferred. Knowledge of Building Code, Fire Code and CSA guidelines as applied in a health care setting. A minimum of 5 years of management experience, or recognized equivalent, in building operations in a hospital setting or in an organization of significant size, complexity and diversity. A demonstrated clear pattern of professional and personal development and leadership in a facility maintenance environment. Leadership skills, including demonstrated ability and comfort with decision making responsibilities, coaching and teaching, and the ability to inspire and build confidence in others. Ability to manage human, financial and physical resources within an operating environment. Must have experience in managing the operation of complex building systems or industrial processes and managing both planned and demand maintenance activities in an acute care setting.
Additional Required Qualifications:
Knowledge of specific and appropriate policies, i.e. Infection Prevention and Control. Demonstrated ability to manage change and create innovative solutions for complex and diverse issues. Must have experience in tendering, contract administration, with experience in various forms; RFQ, RFP, for consulting and contracting with understanding of public sector tendering Must be able to read and interpret blueprints and specifications. Must have the ability to read, interpret, apply and communicate Code, Regulations and adopted Standards.
Preferred Qualifications:
Certificate as a Power Engineer or certification as a mechanical or electrical or engineering technologist.
