If you’re an engaged leader who is excited by the opportunity to oversee a dedicated team of healthcare professionals and medical office assistants who support the continued access for over 10 thousand paneled patients at the Central Family Medicine Teaching Clinic, then this is the role for you. The Central Family Medicine Teaching Clinic (CFMTC) is one of three teaching clinic sites in Calgary (Sunridge and South Health Campus) that are within the Department of Family Medicine (DFM). The Calgary Family Medicine Teaching Centres are training sites for physicians and other disciplines in family medicine. Our patients are seen by medical students or residents and their supervising physician. Together, multi-disciplinary team members, our learners and physicians are committed to providing the highest quality of evidence-based medical care.

Description:

The position is the key leadership role in managing the CFMTC operational functions, including recruitment, performance appraisal, staff scheduling, and budget management. The role promotes clinical effectiveness and optimal patient care, develops programs, and administers policies. Additionally, it involves overseeing human resources, providing leadership to employees, and fostering ongoing staff and learner educational activities. There is also a focus on our Strategic Priorities of Patient Care & Medical Education, Our Communities, Scholarship & Innovation and Our People and the Profession. The CFMTC is committed to our strategic principles of Health Equity, Indigenous Health and Planetary Health. The Clinic Manager oversees a multidisciplinary team that includes a Registered Nurse, Licensed Practical Nurses, Medical Office Assistants, a Social Worker, and various Administrative Support staff. Additionally, the Clinic Manager works closely with the health teams from Calgary Foothills Primary Care Network and Calgary West Central Primary Care Network to provide comprehensive support for our patients. This position works closely with the CFMTC Site Medical Lead and the Zone Clinical Department Manager of Family Medicine.

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in nursing or an RN diploma with additional degree in Nursing, Health Management, Education, Business or Psychology or other relevant field. 5 years of Leadership experience.


Additional Required Qualifications:

As Required.


Preferred Qualifications:

Master’s degree Nursing, Health Management, Education, Business or Psychology or other relevant field. 5 years’ experience in a Primary Care Clinic role. Experience work with EMR.
