Required Qualifications:

A minimum of a Baccalaureate degree (Master’s degree preferred) in Health, Public Health, Community Health Sciences, Health Administration, Business, Policy or Social Sciences. Registration with the appropriate regulatory college. A minimum of five years’ experience in leadership/management in a complex health care setting with experience in the fields of addiction and/or mental health promotion and prevention. Specialized depth and breadth of expertise in AMH, population, public health, policy/program development, implementation including project management. A demonstrated clear pattern of professional and personal development in population public health–specifically focused on psychosocial behavioural health strategy and planning. Extensive knowledge of evidence-informed and emerging promising practice in the area of population-focused promotion and prevention, the influence of the social determinants of health on population health, and disaster psychosocial/behavioural health. Team leadership skills, including demonstrated ability and comfort with managing employees, decision-making responsibilities, coaching and teaching, and the ability to inspire and build confidence in others.


Additional Required Qualifications:

An understanding of legislation and governance; experience with senior management priorities; and an understanding of stakeholder needs. Excellent analytical and decision-making skills. Facilitation and/or coordination experience in project planning, execution, reporting, monitoring and evaluation. Significant experience in problem solving, concerns resolution, investigation, conflict resolution and negotiation. Experience in supervising and leading staff. Demonstrated ability to foster relationships and partnerships with internal and external stakeholders. Effective communicator with strong organizational skills, influencing skills, interpersonal skills, client-focused orientation and commitment to providing quality services. Ability to relay or explain complex issues or difficult situations. Ability to develop and facilitate presentations to convey information or transfer knowledge. Experience in synthesizing information for multiple purposes and audiences.


Preferred Qualifications:

Certification in health systems leadership, process improvement, change management, project management, and addiction or mental health practice.
