Required Qualifications:

A Master’s degree in Health, Business, Policy, or Social Sciences; an equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered. Active registration for those eligible under the Health Professions Act. Extensive Addiction and Mental Health expertise through experience in a variety of settings/roles. A minimum of five years’ experience in leadership/management in a complex health care setting or an organization of significant size. Experience with human resource management including: recruitment, selection, training, supervision, coaching, and performance management. A demonstrated clear pattern of professional and personal development.


Additional Required Qualifications:

Specialized depth and breadth of expertise in areas such as the following: accreditation, clinical policy development, patient safety, clinical quality improvement, grant management, central access and intake, continuum of care planning, virtual health service planning and delivery, and Connect Care. Extensive knowledge of clinical areas, groups, and professions, and the processes that support changing clinical practice. Facilitation and/or coordination experience in project planning, execution, reporting, monitoring, and evaluation. Experience managing physical and financial resources, including the ability to develop and interpret budgets. Experience in problem solving, concerns resolution, investigation, conflict resolution and negotiation. Demonstrated ability to foster relationships and partnerships with internal and external stakeholders. Effective communicator with strong organizational skills, influencing skills, interpersonal skills, client-focused orientation, and commitment to providing quality services. Ability to develop, facilitate, and deliver presentations to convey information or transfer knowledge. Strong writing skills, with the ability to author formal documents and reports for AHS leadership and Alberta Health. Demonstrated ability to facilitate transformational change.


Preferred Qualifications:

Knowledge of the provincial Addiction and Mental Health system and its complexities. Working knowledge of AHS systems, policies, and processes. Certification/education in health systems leadership, process improvement, change management, and project management.
