Completion of post-secondary education in a related field and/or technical certification in a related field required or 4th Class Power Engineer Certificate as per ABSA kW rating guidelines where boiler support is necessary.
Additional Required Qualifications:Grade 12 and post-secondary education in a related field and/or technical certification in a related field. Seasoned/Specialized technical/professional experience (i.e. 5-7 years) required. 5 years previous experience in building architectural, structural and associated HVAC / medical gas systems maintenance in an institutional setting. Must be knowledgeable in the maintenance and repair of buildings and architectural, structural and HVAC / medical gas systems. Must be familiar with the use of tools and equipment necessary to perform required tasks. Very good verbal and written communication skills. Must be reliable, cooperative and capable of working independently. Must possess initiative and be capable of giving direction and supervision as required. Valid Class 5 driver’s license required. Physical ability to walk for long periods and perform a variety of lifting, pulling, pushing tasks up to 50 lbs.
Preferred Qualifications:3-5 years previous experience in building maintenance, architectural, plumbing, electrical, structural and associated HVAC / medical gas systems maintenance in a Healthcare setting. Familiar dealing with and coordinating a variety of contractors and keeping safety standards a high priority. Hands on experience with BMS system (Honeywell will be given priority).
