Required Qualifications:

Completion of post-secondary education in a related field and/or technical certification in a related field required or 4th Class Power Engineer Certificate as per ABSA kW rating guidelines where boiler support is necessary.

Additional Required Qualifications:

A valid Glass 5 Alberta Driver’s License and current Driver’s Abstract. This position requires some lifting, standing, bending, reaching, squatting, climbing and working in cold. Courses and considerable experience working with specialized equipment used for sterilization, refrigeration, Food Services or Laundry Services equipment or a building construction trade certificate (or equivalent training and experience) required. Ability to understand schematics, blueprints, and specifications. Must understand ABSA regulations, fire and building codes; the role of CSA Standards, WHIMIS Guidelines and Occupational Health and Safety Guidelines. Evidence of accuracy and precision in the performance of the duties required. Must demonstrate technical problem solving abilities and be mechanically inclined. Knowledge of and aware of all known safety concerns and physical demands. Ability to work independently and as part of a team and effectively manage his or her own time in setting priorities when faced with multiple tasks and deadlines. Must be able to communicate clearly in English; verbally and in writing. Ability to comprehend and utilize a computerized maintenance system. Ability to effectively operate a building management system maximizing energy conservation while providing environmental conditions according to accepted standards. Able to effectively operate Excel Level 1, Microsoft Word.
