Completion of post-secondary education in a related field and/or 1 year specialized/technical training in a related field OR 5th Class Power Engineer Certificate as per ABSA kW rating guidelines or AHS standards where boiler support is necessary. Possession of a valid driver's licence.
Additional Required Qualifications:Must have a valid 5th class ABSA Power Engineering Certificate. Grade 12 or equivalent is required. Mechanical aptitude and one year of experience in plant operations and maintenance is required. Be able to repair mechanical equipment i.e. Pumps, fans, belt drives, HVAC equipment, and any related equipment within the hospital.
Preferred Qualifications:Trade certification (plumbing, electrical, instrumentation) is desired. A 4th class Power Engineering certificate is preferred. One year of experience in building automation systems. One year of Health Care facility experience is desired. Knowledge of building maintenance and repair. Able to operate grounds equipment. Knowledge of Infectious control measures within a Hospital is desired.
