Completion of post-secondary education in a related field and/or 1 year specialized/technical training in a related field OR 5th Class Power Engineer Certificate as per ABSA kW rating guidelines or AHS standards where boiler support is necessary. Possession of a valid driver's licence.
Additional Required Qualifications:High School education or equivalent along with a 5th Class Power Engineering Certificate or higher is required (desired trade certificate will be acceptable along with the ability to obtain a 5th Class PE certificate within 12 months). Minimum of 2 - 4 years related experience in building and /or hospital service is required (prior relevant trade experience may be credited towards minimum) i.e., desired tradesperson, carpenter and/or drywall / taper. Other trades may be considered. Must be able to complete repairs and installations with due consideration to patients, staff and visitors. Must have basic knowledge of construction, renovation, remodel and repair related to buildings and equipment including cabinets, bookcases, walls, ceilings, roofs, windows, doors and floors. Must possess basic computer skills, in addition to good verbal and written communication skills.
