Completion of post-secondary education in a related trade or technology program.
Additional Required Qualifications:Experience: 5–10 years of experience as a Maintenance Planner or in a closely related planning/scheduling role within facilities or industrial maintenance. 3–5 years of experience in a hospital or healthcare environment (acute care preferred). Technical: Demonstrated proficiency with recognized CMMS platforms (e.g., creation of PMs, job plans, spares, and reporting). Oracle E‑Facilities experience (or equivalent enterprise CMMS/ERP integration) is strongly preferred. Solid understanding of building systems (HVAC, electrical distribution, plumbing, steam, medical gas support systems, fire/life safety, emergency power) and maintenance methods (preventive, predictive, reliability‑centered maintenance). Ability to read/interpret technical drawings, P&IDs, O&M manuals, and OEM procedures. Compliance & Safety: Familiarity with hospital accreditation requirements and regulatory frameworks for facilities (e.g., life safety, environmental health, emergency power testing, pressure systems). Strong knowledge of safe work practices: LOTO, hot work, confined space, working at heights, contractor control. Safety Mindset: Embeds hazard controls and complies with safety procedures at all times.
Preferred Qualifications:Communication & Coordination: Excellent English verbal and written communication skills with proven ability to communicate technical plans to clinical and non‑technical audiences. Strong stakeholder management and meeting facilitation skills. Digital Skills: Proficiency with CMMS, MS Excel, Outlook, Teams, and report building (KPIs, pivot tables, schedule exports). Experience with barcoding, use of Artificial Intelligence, mobile work management, and digital forms is an asset.
