Journeyperson machinist or millwright with five (5) years' experience with a variety of CNC and manual machines, in a prototyping or research environment; or bachelor's degree in engineering from an accredited university program with 16 months of hands on machining/fabrication/building experience; or diploma in engineering technologies from an accredited post-secondary institution with four (4) years hands on machining/fabrication/building experience.
Additional Required Qualifications:Provide evidence of creative mechanical design to solve a problem. Must have very strong organizational, project management, communication and interpersonal skills and high degree of initiative and good judgment as well as the ability to work members of a multi-disciplinary healthcare team. Knowledge and experience with working safely in a shop or lab environment. Two years accumulative hands-on experience with 4 of the following modalities: 3D printing experience. CAD. 3D scanning. CNC machining and CAM. Manual Machining. Working with composites such as carbon fiber, fiberglass or Kevlar. Welding and fabrication. Woodworking. Plastics. Mold making. Building and/or programming robotics.
Preferred Qualifications:Prototyping and design using SolidWorks, CNC programming using GibbsCAM, experience in design for 3D printing, experience with design for composites.
