Required Qualifications:

Completion of an accredited Journeyperson Machinist and Journeyperson Industrial Mechanic (Millwright) Certificate from Alberta Apprenticeship and Industry Training.

Additional Required Qualifications:

Successful completion of Grade XII. Good working knowledge of mechanical equipment. Must comply with Alberta Health Services regulations, policies and procedures. Must comply with Alberta OH&S Act, regulations and code. Must be able to work in physically demanding environments. Must be physically fit and able to lift heavy objects. Ability to work independently with minimum supervision. Ability to identify and prioritize maintenance needs. Must be able to communicate clearly in English, both written and verbal. Must have computer skills, knowledge about Microsoft programs, and building maintenance programs. The ability to work independently, as well as in a team environment is essential for this position. Must be able to communicate effectively and work cooperatively with management, supervisory staff and hospital co-workers.

Preferred Qualifications:

Welder Journeyman certificate as an asset. At least three (3) years' experience working in a hospital or related institution as an asset.
