An exciting opportunity for you to join our Minor Surgery Clinic nursing team, responsible for ensuring timely, high quality safe patient care in a highly organized, fast paced, collaborative practice environment.

Description:

As a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), you are part of an interprofessional health care team, utilizing nursing processes, critical thinking, problem solving, and decision making skills. You will be guided by your education, experience, and demonstrated skill level, in alignment with applicable legislation, standards of practice, policies, and procedures. You will play a key role in providing safe, high quality, patient and family centred care while reflecting the shared vision and values of the organization.

Required Qualifications:

Completion of an accredited Licensed Practical Nurse education program. Active, or eligible for, registration and a practice permit as a Licensed Practical Nurse with the College of Licensed Practical Nurses and Health Care Aides of Alberta (CLHA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).

Additional Required Qualifications:

Successful completion of a perioperative nursing program or significant equivalent experience in an acute care operating room. Minimum 2 years acute perioperative experience or urban minor surgery clinic. Ability to perform consistently in a highly organized, rapid moving environment. Demonstrated advanced problem-solving skills, integrating critical thinking and good judgment. Demonstrated communication skills promoting respect and team spirit. Ability to meet the physical demands of the position. Able to stand for prolonged periods of time wearing lead gown & other PPE as required.

Experience with connect care.
