Completion of an accredited Licensed Practical Nurse education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Alberta (CLPNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).
Additional Required Qualifications:Self-directed individual with a positive attitude and demonstrated excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills, evidenced by performance appraisals and reference checks. Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively within an interdisciplinary team, to provide quality care to Medical-Surgical patients in the Emergency Department. The ability to work independently in a teamwork environment and to report observations is essential. Experience in an Emergency Department within the last year is preferred. Registration with the College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Alberta (CLPNA). Basic Cardiac Life Support- Healthcare Provider (BCLS-HCP) is required. Must have graduated from a recognized Practical Nurse program. Must have post graduate certification in infusion therapy, adult physical assessment and medication administration. Preference will be given to those that have immunization administration, cardiac arrest management, respiratory review day and managing high acuity courses. Must be willing and able to work CASART cases, or be trained to do so.
