Licensed Practical Nurse - Diagnostic Imaging
Your Opportunity:
As a member of the multidisciplinary team, the Licensed Practical Nurse is responsible for delivering consistent quality care to meet the needs of patients in Diagnostic Imaging. You will have the opportunity to work in a variety of areas including CT, Ultrasound and Recovery room for both pediatric and adult patients. High compliment of inpatient and emergency patients. Duties involve patient prep, assisting in performing various procedures, observing, monitoring, reporting and documenting changes in the patient's status. Patient transfers and transports are required. Must have the ability to work independently while maintaining collaboration with team members. Must be able to adapt quickly to changing and fluctuating workloads and work conditions. Accountability, critical thinking, time management and communication skills are necessary. 7.75-hour days and evenings (weekdays and weekends). The successful candidate reports to the Manager of DI Nursing and works under the direction of other professional staff.

As a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), you are part of an interprofessional health care team utilizing nursing processes, critical thinking, problem solving and decision making skills. You will be guided by your education, experience, demonstrated skill level and AHS policies and procedures. Completion of an accredited practical nurse education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Alberta (CLPNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).
Additional Required Qualifications:Good assessment skills are required. The ability to cope and effectively perform in stressful situations is required. Must be able to exercise good judgment, show initiative, be able to follow instructions carefully and work independently. Good interpersonal and public relations skills are essential. Good organization, documentation and coordination skills, as well as sound communication skills, both oral and written, are required.
Preferred Qualifications:Experience as an LPN in a variety of acute care settings would be a definite asset. Experience in Diagnostic Imaging in a Connect Care setting is an asset. Working to the full scope of practice is an asset.
