Completion of an accredited Licensed Practical Nurse education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Alberta (CLPNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).
Additional Required Qualifications:Ability to function capably in a busy acute care, ER, and obstetrical environment. Ability to manage admissions/discharges and prioritize care needs for an Acute Medical population. Must be able to work collaboratively as a member of a multidisciplinary team. Excellent communication and organizational skills. Good communication skills and the ability to maintain effective interpersonal relationships. Competence in relevant technical nursing skills and a willingness to learn new skills as required, with demonstrated responsibility for maintaining own continuing competence. Ability to meet the physical demands required.
Preferred Qualifications:Experience in an Acute Care and ER setting with Obstetrics. Certification NRP, CAM A, CAM B, LEAD II. Experience with Spacelabs/Telemetry Cardiac Monitoring. CTAS, ACLS or equivalent, TNCC or equivalent, and pediatric building blocks.
