Your Opportunity:

As a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) with the Specialty Outpatient Clinics at the Peter Lougheed Centre, you will work as part of a multidisciplinary team to provide safe, high-quality, patient and family centered care to a diverse outpatient population. This is a fast-paced, high-acuity environment where nurses play a key role in supporting safe and efficient patient flow. The position requires adaptability, strong organizational skills, and critical thinking to manage competing priorities. Specialty clinics include, but are not limited to, Respiratory, Hematology, Internal Medicine, Neuromuscular, General Surgery, and HPTP. Reporting to the Unit Manager, you will provide nursing care across multiple outpatient clinic areas and support operational requirements as needed. The successful candidate will be responsible for the assessment, planning, implementation, education, and evaluation of care for patients and families, practicing to full scope in accordance with professional standards, medical directives, and organizational policies. This role requires sound clinical judgment, the ability to triage patient needs, and knowledge of medical protocols, medications, and outpatient clinic processes. You will contribute to patient education, care coordination, and continuity of care. Due to the nature of ambulatory care, clinic operations may extend beyond regularly scheduled hours to ensure patients receive the care they require. Employees must be able to work overtime as needed and remain at work until all patients have been cared for and related duties completed. This position requires the ability to work independently and collaboratively while maintaining effective communication with patients, families, physicians, and interprofessional team members. Successful applicants must be available to work a minimum of five (5) shifts within each two-week scheduling period.

Description:

As a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), you are part of an interprofessional health care team, utilizing nursing processes, critical thinking, problem solving, and decision making skills.
